In the middle of the city of Neumarkt, the Schlossbad offers year-round bathing pleasure. The four seasons associated with permanent use are also reflected in the façade.
The translucent metal curtain that envelops the second floor consists of 270 individual façade elements. These were formed into a stylized geometric wave using the world’s largest fluid press and then anodised by BWB in the color perma green. “Anodised aluminium impresses with numerous qualities,” emphasizes Oliver Fielitz, Managing Director of Fielitz GmbH in Ingoldstadt. “Among other things, it is colorfast for a long time, easy to clean and one hundred percent recyclable even after decades of use” he adds.
The iridescent color nuances from yellowish to blue-green and the deep shadow effect deliberately support the discreet design of the panels and enliven the facade. The evergreen Permagreen surface playfully reflects the changing light and weather conditions of spring, summer, fall and winter.
Perma process in architecture
In addition to the two established processes Permalux and Permabronze, BWB has also been offering the innovative Permacolor and Permagrey processes for a good two years.
The green and blue tones of the Permacolor process are not produced by color pigments, but by a specific light-scattering layer structure. The resulting colors change depending on the viewing angle, incidence of light and geometry of the aluminium facade. The Schlossbad Neumarkt particularly emphasizes these properties of this surface with three-dimensionally shaped facade sheets from Fielitz GmbH.
